ABOUT FRECKLE & FERN

hi, i’m kate!

I am the founder, photographer, calligrapher, and jack-of-all-trades creator for FRECKLE & FERN, a northern-NJ-based photo and design studio. I started F&F while I was planning my own wedding and wanted a one-stop-shop for creative services. I love love, and my heart soars when I can add elegance, magic, and romance to someone’s special day. I can’t wait to create something beautiful just for you!

MY APPROACH

Whether you’re about to propose, are setting up your bridal shower, are ready to “press send” on your invitations, or are ordering family Christmas cards, FRECKLE & FERN has the photography and design resources to elevate your event.

First, I’ll look through your initial inquiry to learn a bit more about your event. You should include important info about location, photography or design needs, size of event, and anything else you think is relevant for me to know.

I’ll then email you or call you to chat more about your needs. We’ll discuss your vision and how I can bring it to life! We can have as many planning emails or calls as you wish — I want to make sure you’re getting everything you dreamed of and more for your engagement or event photos, stationery, decor, or other design elements you may need.

Then, it’s off to the races! Implementing design services to YOUR satisfaction is my guarantee.

  • For photography, I’ll get you (and your partner, or family, or even dog!) scheduled on the calendar. I’ll check in with you before the photo session with wardrobe recommendations and any prep materials I may need from you beforehand. After the session, you’ll receive a “sneak peak” album of 5 or so photos within one week. You’ll then get your full album within one month after your session.

  • For calligraphy and design services, we’ll have several planning calls where I’ll discuss your vision and make sure I understand exactly what you’re looking for. You’ll receive a digital proof of your design (whether it’s a piece of decor, a designed menu, or an event logo) to approve before I’ll work on the final product. I’ll then make the final piece and check in with you periodically to ensure you’re as happy as can be!
